At Town Hall 3 you unlock Clan Castle which lets you to join a clan, chat with members and request or donate troops. This opens up real multiplayer strategy especially for war and defense. You can also unlock more defenses and troops that make your base stronger if designed correctly.
Unlock Clan Castle to request troops from friends or clashers. Baby Dragon is best CC defense troop (10 housing space, strong and easy to train/cook).
Unlock Wall Breakers which mainly helps ground troops to break through walls use them wisely to reach defenses quickly.
You can't copy base layouts until TH4 so all TH3 layouts must be built manually from image.
Save up 500 gems from obstacles and achievements to unlock an extra builder early.
Protect Gold and Elixir Storages in farming bases; in war or trophy layouts, they act as shields for key defenses.
Mortar is your main splash damage defense place it deep inside your base to keep it safe.
Clan Castle (CC) can help you to redirect Goblins around base rather than Town Hall as its target.
