TH17 upgrades require significant amounts of Gold, Elixir and Dark Elixir so farming base should make it difficult for one quick raid to reach most of your resources. These TH17 farming layouts spread valuable storages across protected sections of village instead of leaving several easy loot targets along same entry path.

Sneaky Goblin attacks depend on reaching collectors and storages quickly before disappearing. Placing valuable storages deeper inside layout means Sneaky Goblins have farther to travel, while walls, traps and defensive coverage make it harder to reach several storages from one side of the base.
