TH18 upgrades require large amounts of Gold, Elixir and Dark Elixir, so farming base should make it difficult for one attack to reach most of your storages. These TH18 farming bases place valuable storages across protected sections of village so attackers have to move deeper into different compartments instead of collecting most of loot from single side.
Sneaky Goblins can quickly clear exposed collectors and storages, but deeper resource placement makes complete loot grab more hard. Walls and compartments increase distance between entry points and valuable storages, forcing attackers to deploy more Sneaky Goblins, Jump or Invisibility Spells if they want resources from all sides of base.
Gold and Elixir Storages can also work as high hitpoint barriers around important defenses. Troops spend time attacking through these buildings while Firespitters, Scattershots, Inferno Towers and Monolith continue dealing damage. Keeping Dark Elixir Storage in a separately protected area also prevents one successful entry from reaching every valuable resource at once.
Dead zones around important compartments can divert Root Riders, Throwers and heroes away from shortest route to storages. If troops move toward outside defenses or split between compartments, supporting units can become separated and the attacker may have to spend additional spells just to continue toward remaining loot.
TH18 defenses add more damage around these resource routes. Revenge Tower becomes more powerful as buildings are destroyed, while protected Firespitters and core defenses continue attacking troops that push deeper for storages. Current Season 3 Crafted Defenses such as Lava Launcher, Roaster and Air Bombs can provide additional damage depending on layout and attacks it is designed to face.
Invisibility Spell Towers can also protect valuable section at an important moment by changing which buildings attacking troops can target. Traps placed around likely storage approaches make quick loot entries less predictable, especially when attackers try to reach several resource buildings using same path.

Farming defense can still do its job even when attacker earns stars. If they take Town Hall but leave your Dark Elixir or several Gold and Elixir Storages untouched, you still save resources for TH18 upgrades. Choose layout based on resource you need most and check your defense replays to see which storage routes attackers are reaching too easily.

Yes. Town Hall 18 farming layouts include copy links so you can quickly set resource protection base in Clash of Clans.
Valuable storages are placed in separate protected sections so one attack path cannot easily reach most of available loot. Storages can also slow attacking troops while nearby defenses continue dealing damage.
Deep storage placement, walls and separated compartments increase distance Sneaky Goblins need to move. This forces attackers to commit more troops and haste spells if they want to reach storages quickly in several parts of village.
